Best Family Hotels in Benidorm for UK Families (2027)

Best family hotels in Benidorm for UK families 2027

Planning a family holiday to Benidorm and wondering where to stay? With hundreds of hotels spread across Levante, Poniente and the surrounding resort areas, choosing the right one can make a huge difference to your holiday.

The best family hotels in Benidorm offer much more than somewhere to sleep. Pools, water slides, kids’ clubs, family entertainment, spacious rooms and good locations can turn a standard beach holiday into one the whole family actually enjoys.

But the best hotel for a family with young children isn’t necessarily the best choice for teenagers — and families planning days at Terra Mítica or Benidorm’s water parks may have completely different priorities from those wanting to spend most of their holiday on the beach.

In this guide, we’ve picked our best family hotels in Benidorm for UK families in 2027, covering everything from all-inclusive resorts and water-park hotels to good-value options and hotels close to the beach.

We’ll also explain which part of Benidorm we’d choose for a family holiday and which hotels suit different types of families, so you can narrow down the huge choice without spending hours comparing them.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Don’t choose your Benidorm hotel on facilities alone. Location matters just as much. A fantastic family hotel in the wrong part of the resort for your family can completely change the feel of your holiday.

Best family hotels in Benidorm for UK families 2027

The Best Family Hotels in Benidorm for 2027

Benidorm has family hotels covering almost every type of holiday, from beachfront stays and large all-inclusive resorts to hotels packed with pools, slides and children’s entertainment.

Rather than simply ranking hotels by star rating, we’ve chosen the following options based on the things that matter most to families — location, pools and facilities, entertainment, access to the beach, value and suitability for different ages.

Here are our top choices, starting with our best all-rounder.

1. RH Princesa Hotel & Spa – Best Overall for Families

Best for: Families wanting a good balance of location, facilities and entertainment
Area: Central Benidorm
Holiday style: Family resort / beach holiday

RH Princesa Hotel & Spa is our overall pick among the best family hotels in Benidorm because it offers the kind of balance that should suit a wide range of UK families.

Rather than choosing between a hotel that’s great for children or one that’s conveniently located, RH Princesa manages to offer a bit of both. Families have access to swimming and splash facilities, children’s activities and entertainment, while the central location makes it relatively easy to explore Benidorm beyond the hotel.

It’s particularly appealing if you want days around the pool mixed with trips to the beach, restaurants and Benidorm’s family attractions rather than spending the entire holiday inside a huge resort complex.

Families wanting an enormous water-park-style resort may prefer some of the options further down this list, but as an all-round family base, RH Princesa is difficult to overlook.

⭐ Holiday Blueprint Verdict: Our best overall choice for families who want plenty for the children without sacrificing a convenient Benidorm location.

2. Magic Aqua Rock Gardens – Best for Pools & Water Slides

Best for: Families who want plenty of pool time and water-based fun
Area: Levante / Rincón de Loix
Holiday style: Lively family resort

Magic Aqua Rock Gardens is one of the most appealing choices for families who want the hotel itself to be a big part of their Benidorm holiday.

The standout attraction is the pool and water-play experience, making it particularly suited to children who would happily spend hours splashing around rather than simply using the hotel as a base.

Its location near Levante also puts families within reach of the beach, restaurants and many of Benidorm’s attractions, so you don’t have to choose between resort facilities and getting out to explore.

This is a livelier option than some of the more relaxed hotels in our list, so we’d particularly consider it for families with school-age children who enjoy pools, entertainment and plenty going on around them.

💦 Holiday Blueprint Verdict: One of our top choices if pools and water fun are near the top of your children’s Benidorm wish list.

3. Magic Natura Animal, Waterpark & Polynesian Resort – Best for Theme Parks

Best for: Families who want attractions and resort entertainment built into their holiday
Area: Near Terra Natura, outside central Benidorm
Holiday style: All-inclusive family resort / attraction-focused holiday

Magic Natura is one of the most unusual family places to stay in Benidorm. Instead of a conventional hotel, families stay in Polynesian-themed lodges alongside a large resort packed with pools, children’s facilities and entertainment.

The biggest advantage is its connection with Terra Natura and Aqua Natura. Resort guests currently receive direct, free access to both parks, subject to their opening calendars, making Magic Natura particularly attractive for families planning to spend plenty of time at Benidorm’s animal and water attractions.

Aqua Natura itself covers around 40,000m² and includes areas for adults and children, while the resort also has swimming pools, children’s splash areas, a kids’ club and a games area with consoles, simulators and virtual reality for older children.

The trade-off is location. This isn’t the hotel we’d choose if your priority is walking out of the door and straight onto Levante or Poniente Beach. But for families who want a resort-and-attractions holiday, it’s one of Benidorm’s most distinctive options.

🎢 Holiday Blueprint Verdict: Our top choice for families who want the hotel, animal park and water park to become a major part of the holiday.

4. Hotel Villa del Mar – Best for the Beach

Best for: Families who want a beachfront location
Area: Poniente Beach
Holiday style: Beach holiday / relaxing family stay

Hotel Villa del Mar is one of our favourite choices for families who want to make Benidorm’s beach the centre of their holiday.

The big attraction is the location. The hotel sits directly opposite Poniente Beach, giving families easy access to the sand without needing to organise transport or make a long walk with towels, bags and everything else that seems to come with a family beach day.

Poniente also generally offers a more relaxed atmosphere than the busiest parts of Levante, making this a particularly appealing option for families who want Benidorm’s attractions within reach but prefer somewhere a little calmer to return to.

Villa del Mar won’t offer the same water-park-style experience as Magic Aqua Rock Gardens or Magic Natura, but that’s not really what it’s about. We’d choose it for location, beach access and a more relaxed family holiday.

🏖️ Holiday Blueprint Verdict: Our top choice for families who want to step outside their hotel and have one of Benidorm’s best family beaches right in front of them.

5. Hotel Deloix Aqua Center – Best for Younger Children

Best for: Families with younger children who want pools and space away from the busiest centre
Area: Rincón de Loix
Holiday style: Relaxed family resort

Hotel Deloix Aqua Center is a strong choice for families who want plenty of time around the pool but don’t necessarily want the full-on atmosphere of a large water-park resort.

The hotel has a particularly spacious resort feel, with multiple swimming areas and family-friendly facilities, giving younger children plenty of opportunity for pool time while parents still get somewhere that feels relaxing.

Its location is also worth considering. Deloix sits away from Benidorm’s busiest beachfront streets, which can be a positive for families wanting a quieter base, although you’ll sacrifice the convenience of having the beach immediately outside the hotel.

It’s also well positioned for several of Benidorm’s family attractions, making it a good option if you’re planning to combine relaxed hotel days with days out rather than spending every day around Levante Beach.

👶 Holiday Blueprint Verdict: A particularly good choice for families with younger children who value pools, space and a slightly calmer base.

6. MedPlaya Hotel Rio Park – Best Value for Families

Best for: Families looking for a good-value Benidorm holiday without giving up family facilities
Area: Central Benidorm
Holiday style: Good-value family beach holiday

MedPlaya Hotel Rio Park is our pick for families who want to keep accommodation costs under control while still having the facilities and location needed for an enjoyable Benidorm holiday.

Benidorm has plenty of inexpensive accommodation, but the cheapest hotel isn’t always the best value — particularly once you’re travelling with children. Rio Park offers a more balanced option, combining a convenient location with swimming pools, family facilities and entertainment.

It’s a particularly useful choice for families who expect to spend plenty of time exploring Benidorm, visiting the beach and heading out to attractions, rather than paying a premium for a resort they intend to stay inside all day.

The money saved on accommodation could also be put towards days out at places such as Terra Mítica, Aqualandia or Aqua Natura, which may ultimately make a bigger difference to the family holiday.

💷 Holiday Blueprint Verdict: Our best-value pick for families who want a well-rounded Benidorm base while keeping more of the holiday budget available for beaches, attractions and days out.

7. Sol Pelícanos Ocas – Best for Families Wanting a Lively Location

Best for: Families with older children and teenagers who want plenty happening nearby
Area: Levante
Holiday style: Lively beach holiday

Sol Pelícanos Ocas is one of Benidorm’s best-known hotels and could be a good choice for families who want to be close to the action rather than tucked away in a quieter part of the resort.

The hotel is within easy reach of Levante Beach and surrounded by restaurants, shops and entertainment, making it particularly convenient for families who like being able to walk out in the evening without needing taxis or lengthy journeys.

Its large pool areas are another attraction, especially on days when you don’t want to head to the beach or an attraction.

However, the location won’t suit every family. This part of Benidorm is noticeably livelier than Poniente, so families looking for peaceful evenings or travelling with very young children may prefer one of our quieter recommendations.

We’d be more inclined to choose Sol Pelícanos Ocas for families with older children or teenagers who enjoy having plenty happening around them.

🌴 Holiday Blueprint Verdict: A strong choice for families who prioritise pools, Levante Beach and a lively location over peace and quiet.

Not sure whether Levante or Poniente would suit your family? Our Best Beaches in Benidorm for Families (2027) guide compares Benidorm’s main beaches and quieter alternatives.

Which Area of Benidorm Is Best for Families?

Choosing the right hotel is only half the decision — where you stay in Benidorm can have just as much impact on your family holiday.

Benidorm’s main resort areas have noticeably different atmospheres, so the best location depends on whether your priority is beaches, nightlife, attractions or somewhere quieter to return to in the evening.

Poniente Beach

Poniente – Our Overall Pick for Families

If we were choosing an area for a typical family holiday, Poniente would be our overall pick.

It has a long sandy beach, a spacious promenade and generally feels more relaxed than the busiest parts of Levante. Families still have restaurants, cafés and facilities nearby without necessarily being right in the middle of Benidorm’s liveliest nightlife.

Best for: Younger families, beach holidays and families wanting a more relaxed atmosphere.

🏆 Holiday Blueprint Pick: Choose Poniente if you want the classic Benidorm family holiday with a great beach but prefer somewhere slightly calmer.

Levante

Levante – Best for Families Who Want Plenty Going On

Levante is Benidorm’s livelier side. The beach is excellent and you’ll have a huge choice of restaurants, shops and entertainment within walking distance.

That convenience can be brilliant for families with older children and teenagers, but some parts can feel considerably busier in the evenings.

Best for: Families with older children, teenagers and anyone who wants attractions and entertainment close by.

Old Town

Benidorm Old Town – Best for Atmosphere

The Old Town offers a different side of Benidorm, with narrow streets, tapas restaurants, shops and easy access to both Levante and Poniente.

It can work well for families who want to explore rather than spend most of the holiday inside a resort, although you’ll generally find fewer large family-resort-style hotels here.

Best for: Families who enjoy restaurants, exploring and a more traditional Spanish atmosphere.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: For most first-time family trips, we’d start by looking at Poniente for a more relaxed beach holiday or Levante for a livelier holiday with more happening on your doorstep.

Holiday Blueprint ratings reflect our assessment of each hotel as a family-holiday option and are not official hotel star ratings.

Our overall winner: For most UK families, we’d start with RH Princesa Hotel & Spa because it offers the strongest balance of family facilities, location and entertainment. If beach location matters most, we’d choose Hotel Villa del Mar, while families whose children love pools and slides should look closely at Magic Aqua Rock Gardens.

How to Choose the Right Family Hotel in Benidorm

The best family hotel in Benidorm isn’t necessarily the most expensive or the one with the biggest pool. The right choice depends on your children’s ages, how much time you’ll spend at the hotel and what you want to do during the holiday.

Travelling with Younger Children

With younger children, we’d prioritise shallow pools and splash areas, children’s entertainment, convenient mealtimes and a location that doesn’t require long walks every day.

A quieter area can also make evenings easier, particularly if younger children are likely to be asleep while Benidorm is still very much awake.

From our shortlist, Hotel Deloix Aqua Center and RH Princesa would be among the first options we’d investigate.

Travelling with Older Children or Teenagers

With younger children, we’d prioritise shallow pools and splash areas, children’s entertainment, convenient mealtimes and a location that doesn’t require long walks every day.

A quieter area can also make evenings easier, particularly if younger children are likely to be asleep while Benidorm is still very much awake.

From our shortlist, Hotel Deloix Aqua Center and RH Princesa would be among the first options we’d investigate.

Travelling with Older Children or Teenagers

Older children and teenagers may care considerably less about a traditional kids’ club and considerably more about water slides, theme parks, large pools, beaches and having plenty to do nearby.

Magic Aqua Rock Gardens is particularly appealing for water-loving families, while Magic Natura offers a completely different resort experience with access to Terra Natura and Aqua Natura.

Families with teenagers who want a lively location could also consider Sol Pelícanos Ocas around Levante.

Beach Holiday or Resort Holiday?

This is one of the biggest decisions to make before booking.

If you picture most days involving the beach and promenade, paying extra for an enormous resort full of attractions may not be necessary. Hotel Villa del Mar on Poniente is particularly attractive for this type of holiday.

If your children would happily spend entire days around pools and resort facilities, Magic Aqua Rock Gardens or Magic Natura may justify the extra emphasis on on-site entertainment.

All-Inclusive or Half Board?

All-inclusive can be convenient for families, particularly when children want regular drinks, snacks and ice creams throughout the day. It can also make budgeting easier because more of the holiday cost is known before you travel.

But don’t automatically assume all-inclusive offers the best value. Families planning several days at Terra Mítica, water parks, beaches and other Costa Blanca attractions may spend less time at the hotel than expected.

Compare the total price difference against how many meals you’ll realistically eat at the hotel before paying the upgrade.

Don’t Choose on Price Alone

A hotel that’s £200 cheaper can quickly stop looking like a bargain if you’re regularly paying for taxis, travelling long distances to the beach or buying facilities elsewhere that another hotel included.

Compare location, board basis, room type and family facilities alongside the total price, rather than simply choosing whichever hotel appears cheapest.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Shortlist two or three hotels that genuinely suit your family first, then compare prices for your actual travel dates. Benidorm hotel prices can vary considerably depending on school holidays, board basis and demand.

FAQs About Family Hotels in Benidorm

Is Benidorm good for a family holiday?

Yes. Benidorm can be an excellent family destination, particularly if you want to combine sandy beaches, family hotels, swimming pools, theme parks and water parks in one holiday.

The key is choosing the right part of Benidorm. Families wanting a more relaxed beach holiday may prefer Poniente, while Levante generally suits families wanting a livelier atmosphere with plenty happening nearby.

Which part of Benidorm is best for families?

Poniente is our overall choice for most families, particularly those with younger children or anyone wanting a slightly more relaxed atmosphere.

Levante can be better for families with older children and teenagers who want more entertainment, restaurants and activity within walking distance.

Is Poniente or Levante better for families?

We’d choose Poniente for a quieter family beach holiday and Levante for a livelier holiday.

Both have excellent beaches, so the decision is more about atmosphere and location than beach quality alone.

What is the best family hotel in Benidorm?

Our overall pick is RH Princesa Hotel & Spa because we think it offers one of the strongest combinations of location, family facilities and entertainment.

However, there isn’t one hotel that’s best for everyone. Hotel Villa del Mar is our beach pick, Magic Aqua Rock Gardens is our choice for pools and slides, and MedPlaya Hotel Rio Park is our value pick.

Are there all-inclusive family hotels in Benidorm?

Yes. Benidorm has plenty of family hotels and resorts offering all-inclusive options. However, we’d compare all-inclusive against half board for your particular dates rather than automatically choosing it.

Families planning lots of days away from the hotel may find they’re paying for meals and drinks they aren’t there to use.

Which Benidorm hotel is best for water parks and theme parks?

Magic Natura is particularly interesting for attraction-focused families because of its relationship with Terra Natura and Aqua Natura.

Families planning a visit to Terra Mítica should also consider the hotel’s location and transport options rather than choosing purely on distance.

🎢 Planning a theme park day? Read our Terra Mítica for UK Families: Complete 2027 Guide for rides, family attractions and planning tips.

When should UK families book Benidorm hotels for 2027?

For popular school-holiday dates, we’d start comparing hotels well in advance rather than waiting for a last-minute deal. Family rooms and the most popular hotels can have less availability than standard rooms.

That doesn’t necessarily mean booking the first price you see. Compare the total holiday cost, cancellation conditions and board basis before deciding.

Our Verdict: The Best Family Hotels in Benidorm

Benidorm has a much wider choice of family accommodation than its nightlife reputation might suggest. Whether you want a beachfront hotel, huge pools and water slides, an attraction-packed resort or simply somewhere good value to use as a base, there are options for very different types of family holidays.

For most UK families, our overall pick is RH Princesa Hotel & Spa thanks to its combination of family facilities, entertainment and convenient location.

If the beach is your priority, we’d look closely at Hotel Villa del Mar on Poniente Beach. For children who judge a hotel mainly by its pools and slides, Magic Aqua Rock Gardens would be high on our shortlist, while MedPlaya Hotel Rio Park is our pick for families looking for good value.

Ultimately, we’d choose the area of Benidorm first, decide which facilities genuinely matter to your family, and then compare two or three suitable hotels for your actual dates.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Don’t be afraid to pay slightly more for the hotel that genuinely suits your family. On a 7–14 night holiday, the right location and facilities can be worth considerably more than a small saving on the initial booking price.

Terra Mítica for UK Families: Complete 2027 Guide

Terra Mítica for UK families – complete 2027 theme park guide

If your family loves theme parks, Terra Mítica is one of the biggest attractions to consider during a Benidorm holiday. Located just outside the main resort, the park combines thrill rides, family attractions, shows and Mediterranean-inspired theming.

For UK families used to parks such as PortAventura or the major Orlando theme parks, Terra Mítica is a different experience — but it can still make a brilliant day away from Benidorm’s beaches and hotel pool.

In this complete guide to Terra Mítica for UK families, we’ll cover the best rides, attractions for younger children, thrill rides for teenagers, tickets, food, how long you’ll need, getting there from Benidorm and our tips for planning your visit in 2027.

Is Terra Mítica Worth Visiting?

Yes — particularly if your family enjoys rides and theme parks. Terra Mítica gives you a completely different day from Benidorm’s beaches and water parks and is especially appealing to families with older children and teenagers.

We’d be less inclined to treat it as an essential part of every Benidorm holiday. Families who mainly want beaches and relaxation may happily skip it, while theme-park-loving families could consider it one of the highlights of the trip.

The key is checking the park’s current opening calendar and attraction availability before building your holiday around it, especially if you’re visiting outside the main summer season.

Terra Mítica for UK families – at a glance theme park guide

Best Rides at Terra Mítica for Families

Terra Mítica has a mixture of thrill rides and gentler attractions, so the best rides for your family will depend heavily on the ages and confidence levels of your children.

Families with teenagers and thrill seekers will naturally get the most from the park’s bigger rides, while younger visitors can concentrate on the gentler attractions and shows.

Titanide

Titanide is one of the park’s major roller coasters and an obvious choice for families looking for bigger thrills. With inversions and plenty of speed, this is firmly one for confident riders rather than younger children.

🎢 Best for: Teenagers & thrill seekers

Synkope

Synkope delivers a very different type of thrill, combining spinning with a large swinging motion. If your family enjoys intense flat rides, this is likely to be high on the list.

🔥 Best for: Older children, teenagers & thrill seekers

Inferno

Inferno is another attraction aimed squarely at visitors who enjoy more intense rides. Its unusual spinning coaster experience makes it very different from a traditional roller coaster.

🌪️ Best for: Confident riders & teenagers

The Falls of the Nile

For something the family can enjoy together, The Falls of the Nile adds a welcome water ride to the day — particularly appealing when you’re visiting during Benidorm’s hotter summer months.

💦 Best for: Families & cooling down on hot days

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Height restrictions and ride availability can change, so check Terra Mítica’s current official information before promising children a particular attraction.

Terra Mítica with Younger Children

Although Terra Mítica is particularly appealing to families with older children and teenagers, younger children can still have a good day at the park. There are gentler rides, family attractions and shows alongside the bigger thrill rides.

The important thing is to check the current height restrictions before visiting. If several of the headline rides are unsuitable for your children, we’d look at the full attraction list before deciding whether Terra Mítica represents good value for your family.

For families with children of very different ages, it can help to plan the day around a mixture of family rides, shows and separate opportunities for older children to tackle the thrill rides.

👨‍👩‍👧 Holiday Blueprint Verdict: Terra Mítica can work with younger children, but we’d rate it more highly for families with older children and teenagers.

Terra Mítica for Teenagers & Thrill Seekers

This is where Terra Mítica becomes much more compelling. Families travelling with teenagers who love rides are likely to get considerably more from the park than those visiting purely for children’s attractions.

The combination of roller coasters, spinning rides and water attractions provides a welcome change from spending every day around Benidorm’s beaches and pools.

If your teenager’s idea of a good holiday includes seeking out the biggest rides, we’d put Terra Mítica high on the Benidorm itinerary.

🎢 Best suited to: Families with thrill-seeking children and teenagers.

Holiday Blueprint rating for teenagers: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

How Long Do You Need at Terra Mítica

We’d allow one full day for Terra Mítica rather than trying to squeeze it into a morning or afternoon. That gives you time to experience the rides your family wants, watch a show or two, stop for food and take breaks during the hottest part of the day.

Families mainly interested in a handful of attractions may finish earlier, but we’d rather have too much time than spend the day rushing from ride to ride.

During busier periods, queues can naturally affect how much you manage, so arriving near opening time gives you the best chance of making the most of your visit.

⏱️ Holiday Blueprint Plan: Treat Terra Mítica as a full-day excursion from Benidorm and avoid planning anything important for the evening.

When Should You Visit Terra Mítica?

We’d generally choose a weekday rather than a weekend where your holiday dates allow, particularly during busier periods.

Summer gives you the full theme-park experience but can also mean significant heat. We’d arrive early, use the cooler parts of the day efficiently and build in plenty of water and shade breaks.

If you’re visiting Benidorm outside peak summer, check Terra Mítica’s official opening calendar before booking your holiday around a park day, as operating dates and hours can vary through the season.

☀️ Not sure when to travel? Read our Best Time to Visit Benidorm: Month-by-Month Guide for UK Families (2027) for our picks on weather, crowds and school holidays.

How to Get to Terra Mítica from Benidorm

Terra Mítica is located just outside central Benidorm, so getting there is relatively straightforward whether you’re staying around Levante, Poniente or the Old Town.

Taxi: For many families, a taxi is likely to be the simplest option. You can travel directly from your hotel to the park without worrying about parking or navigating public transport with children.

Car: If you’ve hired a car for exploring the Costa Blanca, driving gives you more flexibility over arrival and departure times. Check the park’s latest parking information before travelling.

Public transport: Bus options may also be available from Benidorm, although routes and timetables can change. We’d check the current local transport information shortly before your visit rather than relying on an old timetable online.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: For a family of three or four, we’d compare the total cost and convenience of a taxi against public transport before automatically choosing the cheapest-looking option.

Food & Drink at Terra Mítica

We’d budget for at least one proper food stop during a full day at Terra Mítica, particularly when visiting in hot weather.

Food outlets and opening times can vary, so we’d check what’s operating when you arrive rather than planning the entire day around one particular restaurant.

Most importantly, make sure everyone drinks regularly throughout the day. Walking around a theme park in the Spanish summer heat can be tiring, especially when combined with queues and thrill rides.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Check Terra Mítica’s current rules before visiting if you’re planning to bring your own food or drinks into the park.

Terra Mítica Tickets & How to Save Money

We’d always compare Terra Mítica ticket prices before travelling rather than automatically buying at the entrance. Prices and promotions can change through the season, and booking online in advance may offer different options.

Before buying, check exactly what your ticket includes, the date it’s valid for and whether there are any restrictions or cancellation conditions.

Families should also compare the total cost rather than concentrating purely on the headline ticket price. Transport, food and any extras during the day all contribute to the real cost of visiting.

🎟️ Holiday Blueprint Tip: Once your holiday dates are confirmed, compare ticket prices before you travel and keep an eye out for legitimate advance-booking offers.

🎟️ Book Terra Mítica Tickets

Terra Mítica Tips for UK Families

A little planning can make your Terra Mítica day much easier, particularly if you’re visiting during the hotter summer months.

Arrive early – Getting to the park near opening gives you more time for the attractions your family most wants to experience.

Check height restrictions beforehand – This is especially important with younger children. Knowing which rides everyone can use avoids disappointment on the day.

Prioritise your must-do rides – Pick a few attractions that matter most to your family rather than trying to complete everything in a strict order.

Plan around the heat – During summer, use shaded areas and indoor attractions where possible during the hottest part of the day.

Bring sun protection – Sunscreen, hats and comfortable clothing are essentials for a long outdoor theme-park day.

Stay hydrated – Make regular drink stops rather than waiting until someone feels thirsty.

Check the park schedule – Opening hours, shows and attraction availability can vary, so check the latest information shortly before your visit.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Let everyone choose one must-do attraction before you arrive. Get those done first and everything else becomes a bonus — much less stressful than trying to conquer the entire park

Terra Mítica FAQs for Families

Is Terra Mítica suitable for a 12-year-old?

Yes. We’d consider Terra Mítica particularly well suited to families with older children and teenagers who enjoy rides. A confident 12-year-old who loves roller coasters and thrill rides could potentially get a lot from the park, although individual height restrictions still apply.

Can you do Terra Mítica in one day?

Yes. We’d plan one full day at Terra Mítica. Arriving near opening gives you plenty of time to prioritise your favourite rides, enjoy some family attractions and shows, and take breaks during the day.

Is Terra Mítica better than Aqualandia?

They’re very different experiences. Terra Mítica is the better choice for roller coasters and theme-park rides, while Aqualandia is focused on water slides, pools and water attractions. Families staying long enough may want to experience both rather than choosing between them.

How far is Terra Mítica from Benidorm?

Terra Mítica is located just outside Benidorm, making it practical as a day trip from the resort. Journey time will depend on where you’re staying and how you travel, so we’d check your route from your hotel before setting off.

Do you need to book Terra Mítica tickets in advance?

You may be able to buy tickets closer to your visit, but we’d compare prices and availability in advance, particularly during busy holiday periods. Booking ahead also means one less thing to organise once you’re in Benidorm.

Is Terra Mítica Worth It for UK Families?

Yes — for the right family, we’d definitely include Terra Mítica in a Benidorm holiday. It’s particularly appealing if you’re travelling with older children or teenagers who enjoy roller coasters and thrill rides.

Families with younger children can still enjoy the park, but we’d check the current attraction list and height restrictions before deciding whether it offers enough for everyone.

We wouldn’t necessarily sacrifice a beach day for Terra Mítica if your family isn’t interested in theme parks. But if rides are a big part of your holidays, it’s an easy way to add something completely different to a week or two in Benidorm.

Our choice would be to arrive early, allow a full day and prioritise everyone’s must-do attractions first.

Best Time to Visit Benidorm: Month-by-Month Guide for UK Families (2027)

Best time to visit Benidorm – month-by-month guide for UK families 2027

Choosing the best time to visit Benidorm can make a huge difference to your family holiday. Visit in the middle of summer and you can expect hot weather, busy beaches and the liveliest atmosphere, while travelling in spring or autumn can mean milder temperatures, fewer crowds and potentially better value.

For UK families, the right month will depend on what matters most. Some families want guaranteed beach and pool weather, while others would happily trade the hottest temperatures for quieter attractions and more comfortable days exploring the Costa Blanca.

In this month-by-month guide, we’ll look at Benidorm from January to December, comparing weather, crowds, beach conditions, family attractions and value to help you decide when to travel.

What Is the Best Time to Visit Benidorm?

For most UK families, we’d choose June or September as the best time to visit Benidorm. Both can offer a brilliant balance of warm weather, beach days and a lively resort atmosphere without always experiencing the extreme heat and crowds of peak summer.

Families tied to UK school holidays will obviously have fewer options. July and August are excellent for families who want maximum heat and the full summer atmosphere, but you’ll need to be prepared for higher demand and busier beaches and attractions.

May half-term can be particularly attractive if you’re looking for warm weather without travelling during the main summer holidays, while October half-term can work well for families more interested in exploring and relaxing than guaranteed hot beach weather.

☀️ Holiday Blueprint Quick Pick

Best overall: June & September
Best for hottest weather: July & August
Best school-holiday option: May half-term
Best for lower crowds: May & October
Best for beach holidays: June to September

Best time to visit Benidorm – month-by-month guide for UK families

Benidorm Month-by-Month: January to December

Benidorm changes considerably throughout the year. Summer brings the hottest weather and busiest beaches, while spring and autumn can be excellent for families who prefer milder temperatures and fewer crowds.

Here’s what we’d expect from each month when planning a family holiday.

Benidorm in January

January is one of Benidorm’s coolest months, so we wouldn’t choose it for a traditional family beach holiday. However, it can appeal to families looking for winter sunshine, walking, sightseeing and exploring the Costa Blanca without summer heat.

Best for: Winter sun & exploring
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐
Crowds: Low
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐

Benidorm in February

February remains mild compared with the UK, but beach and pool weather isn’t guaranteed. We’d treat it as a sightseeing and relaxation break rather than booking specifically for swimming and sunbathing.

Best for: Quieter breaks & sightseeing
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐
Crowds: Low
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐

Benidorm in March

March begins to feel more like spring, with improving conditions making it increasingly pleasant for exploring outdoors. It’s still early for families wanting reliable beach weather, but it can be a good choice if heat isn’t a priority.

Best for: Spring exploring
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐⭐
Crowds: Low–moderate
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐½

Benidorm in April

April brings warmer spring weather, making Benidorm increasingly appealing for families, particularly around the Easter school holidays. It’s a good month for exploring, eating outdoors and enjoying the resort without peak-summer heat.

Beach days are certainly possible when the weather cooperates, but we wouldn’t book April expecting guaranteed summer conditions every day.

Best for: Easter breaks & exploring
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐⭐
Crowds: Moderate around Easter
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐½

Benidorm in May

May is one of our favourite times to visit Benidorm, particularly for families able to travel around May half-term. Temperatures are warmer, beach days become much more realistic and the resort is lively without necessarily feeling as intense as July or August.

For families with younger children who don’t enjoy extreme heat, May can be particularly appealing.

Best for: May half-term & younger families
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Crowds: Moderate
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½

Benidorm in June

June is our joint favourite month for a Benidorm family holiday. Summer has properly arrived, beach and pool days are a major part of the holiday and the resort has a lively atmosphere.

If you’re able to travel before the main UK school summer holidays, June can offer an excellent combination of weather, crowds and value.

Best for: Overall family holidays
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Crowds: Moderate–high
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🏆

🏆 Holiday Blueprint Pick: June
If school dates aren’t restricting you, June is extremely difficult to beat for a Benidorm family holiday.

Benidorm in July

July is hot, sunny and lively, with Benidorm fully into its summer season. It’s an excellent choice for families who want to spend lots of time around the beach, water parks and hotel pool.

The trade-off is increased crowds and heat, particularly later in the month as UK school holidays begin. We’d plan outdoor sightseeing for earlier or later in the day and keep the hottest part of the afternoon flexible.

Best for: Hot weather & summer atmosphere
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Crowds: High
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½

Benidorm in August

August is Benidorm at its hottest and busiest. If your family wants maximum summer atmosphere, warm evenings and plenty of beach and pool time, it certainly delivers.

However, we’d expect busy beaches, strong demand for accommodation and potentially uncomfortable heat during the middle of the day. Families who dislike crowds or very hot weather may prefer another month.

Best for: Maximum heat & lively holidays
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Crowds: Very high
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Benidorm in September

September is our other top choice for Benidorm. The weather is still well suited to beaches and swimming, while the resort generally begins moving away from the intensity of the main summer holiday period.

For families able to travel outside UK school dates, September offers an excellent balance between summer weather and a more relaxed holiday experience.

Best for: Beach holidays without peak summer crowds
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Crowds: Moderate
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🏆

🏆 Holiday Blueprint Pick: September
If you’re not restricted by school holidays, September rivals June as our favourite time to visit Benidorm.

Benidorm in October

October can be a very appealing month for Benidorm, particularly for families travelling during October half-term. Temperatures are generally more comfortable for exploring, while warm and sunny days can still make the beach tempting.

We’d just avoid treating October as a guaranteed summer holiday. Conditions are naturally less predictable than June to September, so a hotel with good facilities becomes more important.

Best for: October half-term & exploring
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐⭐½
Crowds: Moderate
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Benidorm in November

November is better suited to winter sunshine and sightseeing than a traditional family beach holiday. The resort is much quieter than during summer, making it appealing if your priority is relaxing, walking and exploring the surrounding Costa Blanca.

For families travelling specifically for water parks, beaches and swimming, we’d choose a warmer month instead.

Best for: Quiet breaks & exploring
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐
Crowds: Low
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐

Benidorm in December

December offers a very different Benidorm experience from the summer months. We’d consider it for a winter escape and sightseeing rather than expecting a beach-and-pool family holiday.

Christmas and New Year can bring more atmosphere to the resort, but families should pack for cooler evenings and variable weather.

Best for: Winter escapes & festive breaks
Beach holiday: ⭐⭐
Crowds: Low–moderate
Holiday Blueprint verdict: ⭐⭐⭐

☀️ Our Year-Round Verdict: For a classic family holiday built around beaches, pools and outdoor attractions, we’d concentrate on May through September, with June and September our overall winners.

Best Time to Visit Benidorm During UK School Holidays

Travelling with school-age children means many UK families have to choose between Easter, May half-term, the summer holidays and October half-term. Each can offer a very different Benidorm holiday.

Easter Holidays

Easter can be a good choice for families who prioritise exploring and attractions over guaranteed beach weather. Temperatures are generally much more comfortable for walking around than during peak summer, although we’d choose a hotel with good facilities in case the weather is mixed.

Our verdict: ⭐⭐⭐½

May Half-Term

May half-term would be our first choice among the shorter UK school holidays. The weather is warmer, beach days are increasingly realistic and you avoid the intensity of July and August.

Our verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ 🏆

Summer Holidays

Late July and August offer the most reliable conditions for a traditional summer holiday, with hot weather, busy beaches and plenty happening around the resort.

They’re also the periods when we’d expect the greatest demand, so booking accommodation and flights earlier becomes more important.

Our verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½

October Half-Term

October half-term can be excellent for families who prefer milder temperatures and exploring the Costa Blanca, but we’d accept that beach and pool weather isn’t as reliable as during summer.

Our verdict: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

🏆 Holiday Blueprint Pick: May half-term would be our first school-holiday choice, while the main summer holidays remain the safest bet if hot weather and beach time are your priorities.

🏨 Choosing where to stay? Hotel prices and availability can vary considerably throughout the year, particularly during the UK school holidays. See our Best Family Hotels in Benidorm for UK Families (2027) guide for our top picks for different budgets and holiday styles.

Best Time for Benidorm Beaches & Water Parks

If beaches and water parks are a major part of your holiday, we’d concentrate on the warmer months from late spring through to early autumn.

June to September gives families the strongest combination of hot weather, beach days and swimming, with July and August offering the most intense summer conditions.

May can also be an excellent option, particularly around half-term, although we’d check seasonal opening dates for water parks before making them an essential part of the itinerary.

🏖️ Planning plenty of beach time? Read our Best Beaches in Benidorm for Families (2027) guide to compare Poniente, Levante, Mal Pas and Benidorm’s quieter coves.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Always check the official opening calendar for individual water parks before booking around them, particularly outside the main summer season.

When Is the Cheapest Time to Visit Benidorm?

Benidorm holiday prices can vary considerably throughout the year, with UK school holidays generally commanding higher prices because demand for flights and family accommodation increases.

Families who can travel outside school holidays will usually have more flexibility. Spring and autumn are particularly worth comparing because you may find a better balance between holiday cost and weather than during peak July and August.

Winter can offer some of the lowest accommodation prices, but we wouldn’t choose a month purely because it’s cheaper if your family really wants beaches, swimming and water parks. Sometimes paying more for the right time of year gives you a much better holiday.

💰 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Compare May, June and September before automatically booking July or August. The difference in the overall holiday price can sometimes be significant.

Hotel prices can change significantly depending on when you travel. Compare Benidorm accommodation across different dates to see whether moving your holiday by a few weeks could offer better value.

Final Verdict: What Is the Best Month to Visit Benidorm?

For most families, we think the best time to visit Benidorm is June or September. Both months can offer an excellent combination of warm weather, beach time and a lively holiday atmosphere without the full intensity of peak summer.

If you’re restricted by UK school holidays, May half-term is particularly attractive, while July and August remain the obvious choices for families who want the hottest weather and the classic summer-holiday experience.

Families who prefer sightseeing, day trips and more comfortable temperatures may actually enjoy spring or autumn more than peak summer.

Ultimately, there’s no single perfect month for everyone. The best time depends on whether your priority is weather, crowds, price or school-holiday dates.

Benidorm for UK Families: The Complete 2027 Guide

Benidorm for UK families – complete 2027 family holiday guide

Benidorm has been a favourite with British holidaymakers for decades, but there’s much more to it than beaches and nightlife. For families, it combines warm Mediterranean weather, sandy beaches, family-friendly hotels, water parks, theme parks and plenty of things to do away from the pool.

Is Benidorm Good for UK Families?

Yes — Benidorm for UK families can be an excellent choice, despite the resort’s reputation for nightlife. Much of the resort is geared towards family holidays, with long sandy beaches, hotels with pools and entertainment, water parks, theme parks and plenty of restaurants where eating with children is easy.

One of Benidorm’s biggest advantages is the amount you can do without travelling far. You could spend one day on the beach, the next at a water park and another exploring a nearby town or attraction, while still having plenty of time to relax around the hotel.

It’s particularly good for families with older children and teenagers. Aqualandia, Aqua Natura and Terra Mítica give you alternatives to beach days, while watersports, boat trips and other activities mean there’s considerably more to do than on a traditional fly-and-flop holiday.

Families with younger children are well catered for too, although choosing the right area and hotel becomes more important if you’d prefer quieter evenings away from Benidorm’s busiest nightlife.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Don’t let Benidorm’s nightlife reputation put you off. The experience can be completely different depending on where you stay. For a family holiday, we’d concentrate on choosing the right part of Benidorm and the right hotel rather than judging the whole resort by its liveliest streets.

Best Areas to Stay in Benidorm for Families

Choosing where to stay can make a surprisingly big difference to a family holiday in Benidorm. The resort is fairly easy to get around, but Levante, Poniente and the Old Town offer quite different experiences.

There isn’t one area that’s best for every family, so we’d choose based on whether you prioritise a quieter beach holiday, being close to attractions and entertainment, or having restaurants and traditional streets on your doorstep.

Poniente — Best Overall for Families

Poniente would be our first choice for many families, particularly those wanting a slightly more relaxed base. Its long beach and promenade give you plenty of space, while you’re still within easy reach of central Benidorm.

We’d particularly consider Poniente for families with younger children or anyone who likes having access to Benidorm’s attractions without necessarily staying in the busiest part of the resort.

Levante — Best for Families Who Want More Going On

Levante puts you closer to much of Benidorm’s entertainment and has a lively beachfront atmosphere. It’s a good option for families with older children and teenagers who enjoy having plenty happening around them.

The trade-off is that some parts can be considerably livelier, particularly in the evening, so we’d pay close attention to the exact hotel location rather than choosing purely because it says “Levante”.

Benidorm Old Town — Best for Restaurants & Atmosphere

Staying around Benidorm Old Town gives you a different experience again, with narrow streets, restaurants, shops and easy access between the Levante and Poniente sides of the resort.

We’d consider it for families who enjoy going out for meals and exploring on foot, although a large resort-style hotel with extensive pools and children’s facilities may be easier to find elsewhere.

🏆 Holiday Blueprint Pick: Poniente
For a first family holiday to Benidorm, we’d start our hotel search around Poniente. It gives you a good balance between beach time, access to central Benidorm and a generally more relaxed family-holiday feel.

Best Things to Do in Benidorm with Kids

One of Benidorm’s biggest advantages for families is that you don’t have to rely entirely on the beach or hotel pool. There are several major family attractions nearby, ranging from roller coasters and water slides to wildlife parks and shows.

If you’re staying for a week, we’d probably choose one or two of the major attractions rather than trying to visit everything. On a 10 or 14-night holiday, it’s much easier to mix attraction days with beaches, swimming and exploring the surrounding area.

Terra Mítica

Terra Mítica is Benidorm’s main theme park and the obvious choice for families who enjoy rides. The park is themed around ancient Mediterranean civilisations and includes a mixture of thrill rides, family attractions and shows.

Families with older children and teenagers are likely to get the most from the bigger rides, while there are gentler attractions for younger visitors too.

🎢 Holiday Blueprint Pick: If your family enjoys theme parks, Terra Mítica would be near the top of our Benidorm itinerary.

Aqualandia

Aqualandia is one of Benidorm’s best-known water parks, with a mixture of large slides, pools and attractions for different ages. It’s particularly appealing during the hotter summer months when spending a full day around water is considerably more inviting than sightseeing.

For thrill-seeking families, this is likely to be one of the highlights of a Benidorm holiday.

Aqua Natura & Terra Natura

Aqua Natura combines pools and water attractions with areas designed for families, while neighbouring Terra Natura offers a wildlife-focused day out.

Being next to each other makes them useful options for families who want something different from another beach day, particularly when travelling with children of different ages and interests.

Benidorm Beaches

You don’t need to pay for an attraction every day. Levante and Poniente beaches are two of Benidorm’s biggest family attractions in their own right, and we’d deliberately leave several days free for the beach and hotel pool.

Poniente would be our preference for a more relaxed family beach day, while Levante is better if you enjoy a busier atmosphere with plenty happening around the promenade.

When Is the Best Time to Visit Benidorm with Kids?

Benidorm can work well for family holidays for much of the year, but late spring through to early autumn gives you the best chance of warm weather for beaches, pools and water parks.

July and August offer the hottest weather and the liveliest atmosphere, but they’re also among the busiest periods and can be very hot for days away from the pool.

For families who aren’t restricted to the main school summer holidays, May, June and September can offer an excellent balance of warm weather and fewer peak-season crowds.

Families travelling at Easter or October half-term can still enjoy Benidorm, but we’d check the opening schedules of attractions such as theme parks and water parks before booking if they’re an important part of your holiday.

☀️ Holiday Blueprint Pick: If school dates allow, we’d seriously consider late May, June or September for a balance of warm weather, beach days and avoiding the very hottest part of summer.

Getting to Benidorm for UK Families

Benidorm is an easy destination to reach from the UK, with most families flying into Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport (ALC).

From Alicante Airport, Benidorm is roughly 60 km away, with several ways to complete the journey including private transfers, shared coaches, taxis and car hire.

For most families staying entirely in Benidorm, we wouldn’t automatically hire a car. If your hotel is centrally located, much of the resort is easy to explore without one, and organised transport is available for many of the major attractions.

A hire car becomes more useful if you’re planning to explore more of the Costa Blanca, particularly places such as Altea, Villajoyosa or Guadalest.

✈️ Holiday Blueprint Tip: For families travelling with children and luggage, we’d compare the total price of a private airport transfer against a shared coach transfer before booking. The extra convenience can sometimes be worth the difference after a flight.

Eating Out in Benidorm with Kids

Eating out with children in Benidorm is generally easy, with everything from Spanish tapas and Mediterranean food to pizza, burgers and familiar British favourites.

Families wanting the widest choice will find plenty around Levante and central Benidorm, while the Old Town is particularly good when you want to explore smaller restaurants and tapas bars away from the main beachfront.

We’d encourage families to try at least a few local Spanish dishes during their holiday rather than eating entirely around the most tourist-focused areas. Even children who aren’t adventurous eaters can usually find simple options such as grilled meats, potatoes, rice dishes and fresh bread.

🍽️ Holiday Blueprint Tip: Head into the Old Town for at least one evening meal. Even if you’re staying around Levante or Poniente, it’s a nice change from eating around your hotel every night.

Best Day Trips from Benidorm for Families

Benidorm has enough to keep most families busy for a week, but if you’re staying longer, there are some excellent places to explore around the Costa Blanca.

Guadalest – A spectacular mountain village with incredible views and a completely different atmosphere from the coast.

Altea – A beautiful whitewashed coastal town that’s ideal for a slower day of exploring, eating and enjoying the seafront.

Villajoyosa – Known for its colourful waterfront and sandy beaches, making it an easy option for families wanting a change from Benidorm.

Alicante – Combine shopping, restaurants and the waterfront with a visit to Santa Bárbara Castle for views across the city and coast.

🚗 Holiday Blueprint Pick: If we were choosing just one, we’d visit Guadalest. It gives you something completely different from Benidorm’s beaches, pools and theme parks.

💡 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Don’t overload a one-week Benidorm holiday with day trips. We’d probably stay fairly local on a 7-night trip and explore more of the Costa Blanca if staying for 10–14 nights.

How Much Does a Benidorm Family Holiday Cost?

Benidorm can offer very good value compared with many family destinations, but the total cost varies enormously depending on when you travel, where you stay and whether you choose self-catering, half-board or all-inclusive.

Families travelling during the UK school summer holidays will usually pay considerably more than those able to visit in May, June or September. Hotel location can also make a big difference, particularly when comparing beachfront properties with accommodation slightly further from the centre.

We’d look at the whole holiday cost rather than choosing the cheapest package. A hotel that includes meals, entertainment and good pool facilities may ultimately offer better value than a cheaper room if you’re spending considerably more once you arrive.

💰 Holiday Blueprint Tip: Price the holiday both with and without all-inclusive. Benidorm has such a large choice of restaurants that paying extra for all-inclusive isn’t automatically the best option for every family.

Benidorm with Kids: Practical Tips

A Benidorm family holiday is relatively easy to organise, but a few simple decisions can make the trip considerably more enjoyable.

Choose your hotel location carefully – Don’t just look at the hotel itself. Check exactly where it sits in relation to the beach, restaurants and the parts of Benidorm you expect to visit most.

Don’t plan an attraction every day – Terra Mítica and the water parks are great additions, but leave plenty of time for the beach, hotel pool and slower days.

Be prepared for the heat – During the hottest months, sunscreen, hats and plenty of water are essential, particularly when visiting outdoor attractions.

Check attraction schedules – Opening days and hours can vary depending on the season, so check directly before building your itinerary around a particular attraction.

Think about your airport transfer in advance – After arriving with children and luggage, knowing exactly how you’re getting from Alicante Airport to Benidorm makes the start of the holiday much easier.

Explore beyond the busiest areas – Even if you’re staying around Levante, spend some time around Poniente and the Old Town to see a different side of Benidorm.

⭐ Holiday Blueprint Tip: Don’t try to “complete” Benidorm. Some of the best family days can simply be beach → pool → ice cream → dinner → evening walk.

Final Verdict: Is Benidorm Good for UK Families?

Yes — we think Benidorm is an excellent choice for a UK family holiday, particularly for families who want much more than just a hotel and swimming pool.

The combination of sandy beaches, family-friendly accommodation, theme parks, water parks and easy access to the wider Costa Blanca means there’s enough variety to keep both children and adults entertained.

We’d particularly recommend Benidorm for families with older children and teenagers, although families with younger children can have a brilliant holiday too — especially when staying around the more relaxed Poniente side of the resort.

Benidorm won’t be right for everyone. Some areas are extremely lively and busy, especially during peak periods. But choose your hotel and location carefully and you can have a very different experience from the nightlife-focused image Benidorm sometimes has in the UK.

For families looking for sun, beaches, attractions and good value without flying long-haul, Benidorm deserves serious consideration for 2027.

🏆 Holiday Blueprint Verdict: 4.7/5

Best for: Families with older children & teenagers
Our area pick: Poniente
Biggest strength: Huge variety of things to do
Ideal stay: 7–10 nights
Would we recommend it? Absolutely.
